If you have any mementoes or memories of Charter Street Mission we would love to hear from you. With your permission, in time we would like to add some of these to the website and our collection which is held at Manchester Central Library. Did you or any of your family members attend the Sunday School, go on Sunday School trips, receive a Christmas toy, Christmas dinner, attend parties held at the school or have photos of any of these or other events? We are trying to compile a collection of people’s stories of Charter Street Ragged School, could you be a part of this?
Sadly over the years many of the Missions artefacts have been lost. We would love to have them returned to us. One item in particular was a large painting of ‘Daniel in the Lions’ Den’, which hung on the back wall of the large downstairs Mission room. Do you remember it or have you seen it? It would be amazing to return it to the Mission. We would be grateful for any help you can give us with any of these things. We look forward to hearing from you.
The Trustees are also looking for volunteers who have the skills and knowledge to support the Trustees on their journey to making the Mission a sustainable organisation ready for the next 150 years. Would you be interested in joining a group of volunteers?
